The FAQ’s

Q: What is Integrative Medicine?

A: Integrative Medicine (IM) is healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person, including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship between practitioner and patient, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapies.

Q: What is Dr. Lakhia’s approach?

A: Dr. Lakhia believes that stress and inflammation are underlying contributors to most disease processes. Lakhia Integrative Health utilizes a daily digital engagement platform called Wellworld to provide patients specific lifestyle modifications to address these issues. Treatment recommendations may include nutritional changes, supplements, botanicals, meditation, and exercise elements. Additionally, functional lab testing to optimize adrenal function and microbiome diversity may assist in achieving optimal health.

Q: How is Dr. Lakhia’s approach different from other physicians?

A: Dr. Lakhia requires patients to provide a very detailed medical and life history to help identify what factors lead to the development of your condition. Additionally, Dr. Lakhia’s consultations are much longer than the typical 15 minute office visit. Dr. Lakhia strives to find root causes of disease and develop treatment plans to support the body’s natural healing capacity. While some recommendations can be made to help immediately with symptoms, his approach is directed more at obtaining long-term results.

Q: How long does it take to get results?

A: Results vary by each person. Some people feel dramatic improvement within the first month, others may take a bit longer. Standard programs are for a minimum of 6 months. Remember, your body didn’t fail overnight. Years of stress and illness takes its toll and it takes a proper amount of time to restore your health. On average it takes one month of repair for each year you’ve suffered from a specific problem.
