The Methodology

I believe that stress and inflammation are two themes that unify almost all disease processes we face today.

Stress is a factor in five out of the six leading causes of death — heart disease, cancer, stroke, lower respiratory disease, and accidents. An estimated 75 percent to 90 percent of all doctor visits are for stress-related issues.

According to the National Institutes for Health, coping with the impact of chronic stress can be challenging. As the source of long- term stress is more constant than acute stress, the body never receives a clear signal to return to normal functioning.

With chronic stress there can be disturbances in the immune, digestive, cardiovascular, sleep, and reproductive systems of our bodies. Some people may experience mainly digestive symptoms, while others may have headaches, sleeplessness, sadness, anger, or irritability.

Over time, continued strain on your body from stress may contribute to serious health problems, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and other illnesses, including mental disorders such as depression or anxiety.

Making a difference

At Lakhia Integrative Health, I take a whole-person approach to your health considering a diverse array of recommendations to mitigate unwanted effects of stress and optimize your health. My recommendations are focused around improving what I call the “core four” areas of health:
